What services do you offer at Nova Nafs Counselling?

I offer individual and couples therapy. My approach is person-centered and tailored to meet your unique needs and goals, helping you navigate challenges such as stress, trauma, and relationship struggles.

What should I expect in a therapy session?

Expect a supportive and non-judgmental space where you can express yourself freely. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts and emotions, work through challenges, and develop tools to help you move forward with clarity and resilience.

What is your scope of practice?

I specialize in life transitions and multicultural counselling, using evidence-based approaches such as ACT, DBT, EFT, and SFT. My practice helps clients address challenges like stress, anxiety, relationship issues, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Please note, I do not provide crisis intervention, medical advice, or religious teachings. With your consent, I can refer you to appropriate resources for additional support.

Do you offer direct billing to insurance companies?

I currently do not offer direct billing. However, I am registered with both Medavie Blue Cross and TELUS eClaims. I can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

What if I don’t have insurance coverage?

Flexible payment options and sliding scale fees are available for clients without insurance or with limited financial resources. Please feel free to reach out to discuss an arrangement that suits your needs.

How do I book a session?

You can book a session through the [Appointment] button or page on my website or contact me directly via email. If you click on (book an appointment),  you will be directed to create an account on a secure booking software (JaneApp) where you will then be able to book your appointment. Please complete the intake form before your first session to help me tailor our work together.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you decide if we’re a good fit. This allows you to ask questions and get a sense of my approach before committing to a full session.

Is therapy confidential, especially in virtual sessions?

Yes, therapy is confidential. All sessions, in-person or virtual, follow ethical guidelines to ensure your privacy. For virtual sessions, it’s essential that you are in a private, uninterrupted space to maintain confidentiality and focus.

Do you offer therapy in languages other than English?

Yes, I am fluent in both English and Arabic. I offer therapy in both languages, including various Arabic and English dialects, ensuring you feel comfortable and understood.

Do you offer in-person sessions?
